Illusion Canvas

About the project

From a visual idea to a moving image.

Illusion Canvas is an online visual illusion animation maker, operated by the independent creator of Illusion Canvas.

What you can make

Choose a template, adjust its appearance and motion, preview the result, and export an image or a browser-recorded video. The editor brings particle geometry, rotating forms and short letter shapes into a single workspace for creators making visual posts, backgrounds and motion experiments.

A small, independent tool

The project is developed and maintained independently. The public editor uses a selected library of templates with defined controls. It does not require an account, and your project drafts are stored in your browser rather than a cloud project library.

Experiments, with clear limits

Visual illusions can be interpreted differently by different people. These animations are creative tools, not vision tests or measures of focus. Browser video export is a real-time recording and is affected by device performance. Template guides explain the controls and limitations of individual effects.

Sources and feedback

Some motion ideas build on existing visual illusions. Where a guide uses a known reference, it identifies that source; for example, the Dual Axis guide credits Frank Force. Please contact [email protected] with feedback, accessibility issues, source corrections or rights questions.
